Kitchen Remodel

My friend Joyce recently moved back to Tennessee and bought a house in the outskirts of Nashville. Joyce has always been really talented at being able to visualize potential. She knew that she and her husband Rand could turn this older ranch-style home into something special. I have spent some time in her home and can attest to her creativity. Joyce has always thought outside of the box, and that is one of the reasons I love her.

She graciously allowed me to share some photos of her kitchen remodel:

This is the epitome of a before- burgundy walls? Check. Wallpaper border? Check. Linoleum and laminate counter tops? Check:



From Joyce: "Rand and I did most of the demolition work ourselves. We laid the flooring, back splashes, and the glass tile on the bar top. Oh yeah, painted and added all the molding. We worked with a contrary, country cabinetmaker to design and install the cabinets. I wanted a very straightforward look - not a lot of frills - not big on dusting."
