The Rockettes

Last weekend, the Bestie and I took Little Kid to see the Rockettes at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.  We were very excited!  Getting there was rather harrowing.  Driving in pouring rain normally does not bother me, but after a six hour round trip that usually takes five, my nerves were shot.  It Never. Stopped. Raining.

Confession: I am a born and bred Tennessean and this was my first time at the Grand Ole Opry.  I have been to Opryland, Opry Mills, the ice exhibit, heck, we made a yearly pilgrimage up to the Opryland theme park when I was a kid.  But I have never been to the Opry itself.

The Rockettes were AMAZING.  We loved them.  Every time they formed a kick line, Little Kid would say, “”High Kicks!”  I spent much of my formative years in tap shoes and it was always my dream to be a Rockette.  That, and a backup singer for Fleetwood Mac.

{I snuck a few pics with my phone.  Shhh, don’t tell anyone.}

The non-Rockette part of the show?  Dinner theater cheese.  When Santa and his elf began to rap, Olivia and I just looked at each other in bewilderment.  Bring back the Dancing Mommies {as Little Kid refers to them}!

After the performance, we popped into the gift shop to purchase an ornament {do you buy ornaments to commemorate special events/trips too?}, and I found a miniature Rockette costume for Halloween next year.  Y’all.  I am overwhelmed by the adorable.

Even though it rained for the entire trip home {and a light started flashing on my dash, convincing me that we were about to break down in the pouring rain at 8pm on Interstate 65}, we still had a great time.  The light was just my tire pressure, which was easily remedied the next morning.

Tomorrow is the Big Holiday Blog Party Post!  We have trees {three, to be exact},  Mantle Decor,  Outside Lights,  Pink Reindeer,  a Disney Tree,  Coordinated Gift Wrap, and much more!  Which reminds me, I need to go wrap gifts with said coordinated wrap.  Be sure to drop back by!

Happy Weekend!
