what i wore wednesday

I am trying something new with WIWW today.  Taking pictures of multiple outfits, uploading and editing the pictures, and then attempting to craft them into an interesting blog entry has been rather daunting.

To simplify life, I am trying out a “Look of the Week” weekly post for WIWW.  This week’s entry has a budget-friendly flavor.

My new velvet blazer.  When asked, I say that it is vintage, and I am not lying--it was purchased at a vintage store for $10.  However, the tag gives me away.

I am not a fan of Old Navy, but I love this jacket.  Even the lining is fabulous.

My sister found the blouse at Goodwill for…wait for it….$2.50.  She has the thrifting touch.  The only thing I ever find at thrift stores is broken furniture that smells like cat pee.

{Marisa Boot Cut Slacks by Ann Taylor Loft - 40% off, score!}

The pants are fitted but still comfortable.  This ensemble also works with jeans, as you can see, for a more casual look.

{Shoes: Emmie by Lucky Brand; Earrings: Stella & Dot (earrings are discontinued but S&D has similar styles, these were a gift from a generous friend for fish-sitting); clutch: a gift from the bestie that she found on Etsy, beads were purchased from Big Kid’s best friend’s mom’s business-that is a mouthful!}

The Lucky ballet slippers are similar to Tory Burch’s Eddie that my blog designer Danielle raves about, and I almost bought the Eddies until I found these at half the price.  Unfortunately, they are just not very comfortable.  That old adage is true: you get what you pay for.

  2. Very cute. And if it's any consolation at all, I suck at thrifting as well.

  3. I am the same way with thrift stores. I never find anything good but books.
