Wow, has the real estate industry changed in the five years since we bought this house. The production value on that virtual tour is fantastic. I looked at some of the other home tours linked and then found myself cataloguing some of the must-haves that I would include in my dream house. First off, Jenni's kitchen is top of the list. Her kitchen is what made me want to buy her home. If I could just move her kitchen in my house, I would be happy.
Additional Dream House requirements (it's fun to dream):
+ Large open living room
+ Guest bedroom
+ Coffered ceiling
+ Oversized patio
+ Stone fireplace with an oversized mantle
+ White kitchen cabinets
+ Front Porch
+ Three car garage
+ 18 in. tile floors
When I was a young teen, I babysat for a family who lived on the lake. One whole wall of their home was windows and I thought that I would have that in my home when I grew up. My grandmother had a "Florida Room" in her home and it was where we ate many a family dinner with a scenic view of her farm on top of the hillside. Our home is the perfect size for a growing family but it can be difficult to entertain due to the smaller den and patio. I would expand them both for more seating. And I am endlessly frustrated with my mantle, why do they build them so narrow?
We are sad to see Jenni and her family move but I look forward to seeing what she will do with their new home. I am sure that it will be amazing. If you are local and looking, definitely check it out.
So what about you? What would you put in your dream house?
