Tune for Thursday | Road Trip -- GIRL

In the next few weeks, the Engineer and I will be heading to beautiful Savannah, Georgia! I visited in 1998 with my friend Allison, but this will be his first visit. Trust me, that never happens -- it is rare that I have been somewhere that Mr. Traveler has not.

Whenever we travel, I usually pick a new album to listen to on the trip. Some of my faves:

"Symphonicities" by Sting (So, so good -- highly recommend)
"Viva La Vida" by Coldplay
"Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" by Foo Fighters

(Confession: If I am by myself, it is Barbra time -- with some Carly Simon thrown in. I can really belt out "The Stuff that Dreams are Made Of," probably to the horror of the other motorists.)

Engineer picks:
"The Best of 1980-1990" by U2
"Of the Blue Color of the Sky" by OK Go
"Stunt" by Barenaked Ladies

This trip is "Girl" by Pharrell. It is rare that I like every song on an album, but I love Pharrell and have been a fan since his Neptunes/N.E.R.D. days. If I had to pick a favorite song off this album I would have to go with "It Girl." But they are all aces.

I don't know how long this will stay up but I found the whole album on YouTube:

This weekend is going to be bananas with two birthday parties, another run (this time one mile versus 5K), choir singing, a visit from my new nephew and hopefully some YMCA time (I just ate a cupcake the size of my face, gotta pay the piper). So I am signing off for the week --

Happy Weekend!
