Thoughts on Thursday

Reading: "Game of Love" by Ara Grigorian.

I am embarrassed for what it says about me that if I knew this contemporary romance was written by a man, then I probably would not have read it. And I would have missed out because it is a great book. Interesting observation: In many of these books, the main female character usually takes on some Mary Sue qualities, but in this one it was the male protagonist. I have to say that one of my favorite aspects of this book is that Grigorian managed to write scenes that were sexy without being over-the-top graphic, which is a pet peeve of mine. I am not impressed by books that seems to craft their story around sex scenes. I give it four out of five basset hounds:

Writing: A story about the two-day, full-scale disaster exercise on the installation this week, but I am just not happy with it. It's choppy. Sometimes the best thing to do in situations like these is to sleep on it and hit it again with a fresh perspective.
Watching: Pitch Perfect 2 this weekend! Excited.

Listening to: My Stevie Wonder workout playlist, with this at the top of the list:

It just does not get any better than that. If you are needing to add some juice to your workout, I highly recommend.

Missing: A dear friend. You are still my role model, Joanne. I wish you were here.
Happy Thursday.
